I’ve always had a deep passion for games, not just as a fun pass-time, but as a way to deliver stories, experiences, and challenges that would be nearly impossible in any other medium. As a gamer, I started playing games at eight years old with Spyro on Play Station 1, Sims on PC, and Pokemon on GameBoy. As I got older, my taste in games grew broader. My now all-time favorite games are all in different genres ranging from AAA FPSs and RPGs to indie rogue-likes and deck-building games. Some games that have inspired me to become a game designer are Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and the Fallout franchise. As a game designer, I’m most passionate about working on RPGs and horror games. I like to craft worlds, levels, and gameplay systems to bring fun and interesting experiences to players. I also have an interest in procedurally generated content like the weapons in Borderlands, the worlds in Minecraft, or the levels in any rogue-like. I think these systems in games add a lot of replay value and can be interesting when combined with designer created content, but can also be a double-edged sword if implemented poorly into the overall design.
